Alia Bhatt’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ to go on floors FIRST as shooting commences in a week | Hindi Movie News

Lockdown 5.0 has been announced but a lot of restrictions are all set to be lifted, especially for the entertainment industry. As the new Government Resolution gets Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s approval, shootings of ads, shows, and films will commence over the next few days. And by the looks of it, the first film to start shooting would be Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’.

ETimes had exclusively reported earlier that Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ could be one of the first films to go on floors. Spilling the beans on the same, Ashok Dubey, (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) general secretary, had revealed, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali was already shooting in Filmcity and his set is still there. So the possibility is that his movie will be the first to resume shooting with the necessary precautions, once the permission is granted by CM. Boney Kapoor ji’s film was being shot in Madh Island, his sets have been covered and he may begin shooting once the lockdown ends. A lot of filmmakers have kept their sets intact, waiting to start shoot post lockdown.”

Reportedly, the CM had been in touch with the producers, broadcasters and trade bodies from across industries. A team appointed by him has also closely looked into the standard operating procedures being devised by different bodies operating in the film and entertainment production businesses.

This will be the first film of actress Alia Bhatt with the filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Earlier, she was supposed to star opposite Salman Khan in ‘Inshallah’. However, things did not seem to have worked out well for them and the movie got shelved.
