BJP president Amit Shah made a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal for failing to live up to the expectations of the people.

“Growth and development is not visible in Bengal,” said Shah. “Where will development come from if so much money is pumped into Saradha investments,” Shah said hitting out at the Mamata Banerjee government.

Speaking at a programme of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Shah said: “I have no hesitation to say that the Trinamool Congress government has failed to create an environment for development and growth in Bengal. The situation in Bengal is acutely depressing.”

“The Communists had ruined the state but the present government of change have failed to deliver, too. The people are watching. It is up to the people now to bring about a change again,” he said.

“Every other day there is a bomb explosion. There is fear. There is terror. A favourable environment for development and growth have eluded the state. The center is always ready to help but if a state does not have a peaceful law and order situation how can a state charter a growth path,” he asked adding in such situation no amount of grants from the center will help Bengal.

“The BJP government believes that without the development and prosperity of the North Eastern region it would never be able to achieve the target of 10% growth in five years,” he explained.
