Coronavirus: Aadhaar must for a haircut in Tamil Nadu | Chennai News

CHENNAI: Are you planning to go for a haircut or pedicure? Get your Aadhaar number first. The Tamil Nadu government has mandatory for owners of salons, beauty parlours and spas to register the details of the customers – name, address, mobile phone and Aadhaar number.
The revenue administration and disaster management department has sent a standard operating procedure to all the district collectors and the commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation for strict enforcement.
The owners should encourage service by appointment and maintain 50% capacity to allow customers to sit one seat away from each other. Only a minimum number of people should be allowed to wait in the waiting room. They should also ensure proper ventilation with windows being opened and avoid AC and air coolers.
The furniture, handles of doors, beds and other facilities should be disinfected five times a day, while the machinery should be sanitised ahead of every service. Blades used for a customer should not be used again and should be properly disposed of. Disposable overcoats and head bands should not be used again, the SOP said.
The owners should provide adequate facilities at the entrance to wash hands with soaps or hand sanitisers. Paper napkins should be readily available for customers and staff. They should be disposed of safely after use.
Workers should wash hands with a soap or use sanitisers to clean hands ahead of taking up work. The owners and workers should wear mandatorily masks and gloves.
If any worker is found to have cough or cold or fever, he or she should immediately approach a government doctor and undergo tests. The customers with symptoms of fever should not visit the salons and should visit the government hospital. The owners should keep a display board in the premises of the advisory.
