Around 37 tree falling incident reporting in different parts of the city in last 24 hours
MUMBAI: Several tree fall incidents were reported in different parts of the city around Wednesday afternoon and no one sustained any injury said fire brigade officials.
BMC official said that they have deployed dedicated staff in each of the 24 administrative wards in the city to remove the tree branches from road to ensure that it should not create hurdle in movement of emergency vehicles.
BMC officials stated that they have shifted around 25,000 slum dwellers living at seashore and landslide prone areas in the city. They are shifted to BMC schools and other premises in the vicinity for their safety. Around 30,000 more people shifted themselves to their relatives’ place or BMC provided temporary shelter.
Officials stated that they have deployed firemen at the beaches along with safety boat and senior officials personally monitoring the situation on the ground.
Municipal commissioner I S Chahal, visited the BMC disaster control room where civic officials monitoring feed of over 5,000 CCTV cameras installed across the city. Afterwords, Chahal visited the seashore areas at Worli and spoke with his officials about the safety measures.
