As the Central and state governments allow phase-wise relaxation in curbs to get the life up and running again following over two months of lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19, we bring you the latest updates from your city.
* Update at 9.17am: India reports 9,304 new Covid-19 cases & 260 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total number of cases in the country now at 2,16,919 including 1,06,737 active cases, 1,04,107 cured/discharged/migrated and 6,075 deaths: Ministry of health and family welfare. (ANI)
* Worried doctors at state-run hospitals on Wednesday demanded Covid-19 tests for all medical staff after 31 doctors and three lab technicians tested positive.
* Telangana reported seven deaths from novel coronavirus on Wednesday, the highest single-day toll since the outbreak as 129 more persons tested positive for the deadly virus. Total cases in state stand at 3,020 and death toll is 99.
* Pushed into a corner by approaching deadlines and a skeletal workforce, many desperate builders are now booking air and AC train tickets for labourers in the hope of luring them back to their sites. Average cost per head – Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000 for air tickets.
