Karunanidhi death anniversary: DMK launches virtual marathon, funds to be used for Covid-19 relief | Chennai News

CHENNAI: DMK president M K Stalin on Thursday launched Kalaignar Memorial International Virtual Marathon to mark the second death anniversary of former Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi.
The fund generated through the virtual marathon would be utilised to buy equipment for Covid-19 treatment. It will be distributed to government hospitals from the first week of September.
Interested people from across the globe can register by logging on to www.kalaignarmarathon.com.
According to a statement released by DMK, the marathon will be held between August 7 and 31. Entry fee for each participant is Rs 300. The participants should comply with lockdown norms and run on their terrace, garden, treadmill or any other facilities available. Every participant will receive a certificate online and medals will be sent by post.
