No odd-even policy, more time to step out in Mohali | Chandigarh News

Shops in Mohali can now stay open from 7am to 7pm

MOHALI: Shops will not have to follow odd-even policy and can stay open on all days between 7 am and 7 pm, one of the major relaxations the local administration announced on Monday.
“We have extended the curfew relaxation time by four hours. People are free to move outside from 5am to 9pm from the earlier time of 7am to 7pm. The odd-even restriction on shops is lifted. Shops can open between 7am and 7pm and liquor vends from 8am to 8pm,” said deputy commissioner Girish Dayalan. Barber shops and salons are already open in Mohali. Dayalan said all employees, be it in government or private offices, would be allowed to move without any requirement of pass except the mandatory self-generated e-pass for inter-district and inter-state travel.
He said strict compliance would have to be ensured to all standard operating procedures (SOPs) as well as health and safety protocols, including wearing of masks and social distancing. Though no restrictions are in place on movement within city or districts, the DC urged people to avoid non-essential travel.
Regarding inter-state travel, he said buses would ply with the consent of other states. The transport department would issue SOPs for intra-state movement of buses. Inter-state movement of essential goods would not be restricted. No restrictions exist on either interstate or intra-state movement of passenger vehicles such as taxis, cabs, stage carriers, tempo travellers and cars, but self-generated epass would need to be downloaded from Cova app.
