Patiala: Man shot five times during car robbery | Ludhiana News

PATIALA: A 30-year-old man was shot at five times by some robbers who snatched his car in broad daylight on Tuesday in Patiala. The injured man has been admitted at Government Rajindra Hospital. However, the police are yet to identify and nab the accused in this case.
According to the police, the incident took place at Patiala – Samana road at around 1.30pm when the complainant, identified as Mandeep Singh of Dullar village, was driving towards a village in Patiala.
Police said that Mandeep gave lift to an unknown person on his request to drop him near the city. The police said that on the way, the accused robber requested Mandeep Singh, to stop his luxury car as he wanted to pee. The police added that the accused returned to the car and opened fire on Mandeep and then fled with the vehicle.
DSP Samana Jaswant Singh Mangat said, “According to the statement of Mandeep Singh we have registered a case against the unidentified accused and initiated an operation to nab the accused as soon as possible. Mandeep claimed that the accused returned into his car and opened five gunshots on his body and then took away his car. We are investigating the matter thoroughly and looking into all the CCTV footage from where the car might have crossed. The condition of injured Mandeep is said to be stable according to the doctors but he is still under observation.”
