JAIPUR: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday gave a nod in principle, for probe by an independent agency into the suicide of Rajgarh SHO Vishnudutt Bishnoi, after a delegation of Bishnoi community met Gehlot here and asked for CBI inquiry into the suicide. The demand for CBI inquiry into the cop’s suicide has come up multiple times.
Gehlot had initially assured the delegation of Bishnoi community that the government will look into the matter but after extensive discussion with senior officials including chief secy D B Gupta, ACS (Home) Rajeeva Swarup, DGP Bhupendra Singh and ADG CID CB, B L Soni, the state decided that an independent agency could look into the matter. The agency could be CBI as well, so as to satisfy the next of kin.
